Wavelength division of infrared light
The infrared band includes a wide range of wavelengths, from 780nm to 14um, which is divided into near-infrared, mid-infrared and far-infrared. Near infrared (code name IR-A, wavelength 780~1500nm, NIR), mid-infrared (IR-B, 1500~6000nm, MIR), far infrared (IR-C, 6000~14000nm, FIR).

(2)The carbon ir filter is made by vacuum coating on optical white glass, such as IPGC-720, this type is also called optical cold mirror, which reflects visible light and allows infrared light to pass through. The exterior looks silver, like a mirror. If it is a mid-to-far infrared filter, it should be coated on Si, Sapphire, and quartz glass.
(3)The carbon ir filter made of special plastic has a black appearance. If you look at the sun through this infrared filter, you can also see a red sun. The plastic material can be PC or PMMA.
Besides the band-pass type, the band-pass filter is made of vacuum coating. For near-infrared bandpass, it is coated on white glass. If it is mid-to-far infrared, it will be coated on Sapphire. Everyone can add. Among them, the corresponding light sources of the near-infrared bandpass filter are mainly infrared IR LEDs and infrared lasers, so the main wavelengths are 808nm, 850nm, 905nm, 940nm, 1064nm, and there is also an unusual 780nm. So the wavelengths of commonly used near-infrared filters are mainly these. The corresponding models are BPF-850, NBF-808, BPF-940.
The wavelength of the infrared bandpass filter produced is generally in the range of 2-25um, and the substrate is coated with silicon, germanium, sapphire, magnesium fluoride, calcium fluoride, etc. The peak value of the filter can reach more than 75%.
The product has deep cut-off rate, steep cut-off band and wide cut-off range, and can be customized according to customer requirements. Products are mainly used in sensors in laser, imaging, detection, temperature measurement, sensing, aerospace and other fields. All are also called special filters for infrared sensors.
